The DAWR has released an update to the import requirements in relation to the BMSB (Brown Marmorated Stink Bug). Certain manufactured goods produced on or after 1 December 2018 and classified under CH. 82, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88 and 89, being “new machinery, vehicles, vessels and/or new complex parts and equipment” may be exempt from these requirements. The importer must however be able to produce evidence in the form of a Manufacturer’s Declaration or statement on the Commercial Invoice, that the goods are “new, unused and not field-tested” and also that “the components of the machinery were also produced on or after the 1 December 2018.”
